I have waited a long time to purchase Alistair The Parrot but I always got distracted by all the other beautiful designs and he was always “next time”. Finally it was his time and I purchased not Alister but also his mate Pete, both in the pale blue background. I can’t wait to get started over Christmas and New Year as I will be staying with my daughter and so will have plenty of time. It’s going to be a very happy stitching festive period.

Alister the Parrot is beautiful and compliments Pete the Parrot which I stitched from the book years ago. The wool colours are tasteful, in true EB style. I would recommend these kits to anyone who loves needlepoint.

Since 1990 I have owned two Elizabeth Bradley needlepoint books and had finished several projects from them and ogled others, especially the parrot. I haven't done any needlepoint in over 25 years and was thrilled with Alister the Parrot when I opened the box. Although the continental tent stitch and half cross tent stitch were the stitches I had typically used, the Victorian cross stitch is easy to work, especially since the design is perfectly and evenly printed. Gorgeous! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Elizabeth Bradley needlepoint kits.
