The Chelsea Pensioners

The Chelsea Pensioners

The Royal Hospital in Chelsea (London) is home to the iconic Chelsea Pensioners - retired soldiers of the British Army.  More than 300 of these veterans receive accommodations and care at The Royal Hospital, in recognition of their loyal service to the nation.

Each year The Hospital hosts the most prestigious and anticipated horticultural event – The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show.  People travel from all over the world to view the unique flower displays and innovative garden designs.  The Flower Show is attended by royals and celebrities, and tickets are in high demand.

The RHS first invited Elizabeth Bradley to exhibit at the Flower Show in 2016 – an honor given to few non-horticultural companies.  The Elizabeth Bradley team has continued to exhibit each year, showcasing beautiful botanical needlepoint kits.

The Chelsea Flower Show also provides inspiration to the Elizabeth Bradley design team.  While exhibiting at the first show in 2016, head designer, Vernon Kirk, came up with the idea to create a series of kits based on the main show gardens - our Kirk & Bradley for Elizabeth Bradley Chelsea Garden Kits were launched!  The Flower Show also inspired new Mini Kits - The Chelsea Poppy and a series of Pensioner mini kits – The Colonel, The Major, and The Brigadier. A portion of sales from these kits are donated to the Royal Hospital in support of the Chelsea Pensioners.

We are thrilled to continue exhibiting at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show each year and look forward to sharing more on this event.
