Beginner Technique Workshop - September 12th, 2022
This class is constructed to suit those with beginner to intermediate ability. From the complete novice to those with a general understanding of needlework and a few projects behind them, this class is ideal for brushing up on latent skills or starting from scratch. We provide a starter kit of your choice in a collection of botanical designs taken directly from our Millefleur Collection and you are encouraged to bring projects with you or make a start on kits you have ordered for the day. We’re also delighted to offer one of our 6” Mini kit designs in place of the starter kit for an additional £20 if you’d prefer to work this during the class. The tutor will focus on the Victorian Cross Stitch, this stitch covers the canvas well and has a strength which creates very durable results. It works evenly without a frame and produces an excellent finish. The morning session will also cover the Left-handed Stitch and Reverse Stitch. Class numbers are limited to allow the tutor to focus on individuals when necessary.
UK Master Joining Class - September 13th, 2022
This class has been designed for those who have reached the stage where they can focus on more ambitious projects and wish to join a number of stitched pieces together to create a needlework carpet. This class will require a minimum of 2 designs ready for joining to be brought to the class with the two additional rows of stitching around all edges as per the instructions supplied in the kit. The class will commence at 9:00am with tea and coffee and the tutor will ascertain the level of each student with regard to their project and what they wish to achieve. The class covers all aspects of joining and includes vertical joins, horizontal joins, mitring of corners and the binding stitch. A sample join will also be provided before working on stitched panels. We can help to plan the composition of designs if required and stitched models will be on display to give inspiration on layout. The tutor will be available to focus on individual projects and answer any questions.
Both classes, though different in content, will run to the same format, commencing at 9:00am with light refreshments and an introduction. Lunch will be provided, we are happy to accommodate specific dietary requirements, please let us know in advance to allow us to make alternative arrangements. The class will then run until 2:30pm. A tour of the production facility will follow as well as a demonstration on how our kits are put together. The day will end with some shopping where you’ll be able to take advantage of the exclusive discount on all purchases pre-ordered or class bought and view the various finished pieces on display to encourage and inspire!
